Pregnancy Week 18

My pregnancy symptoms, food cravings, books I’m reading, and why I chose to work with a midwife instead of going to the hospital. If you have any questions about the books or their authors just send me a note and I’ll give you any info you need. I forgot to show you the CD I was talking about which is called “Belly Love: Guided Meditations for a Happy and Healthy Pregnancy” and it’s an incredible way to connect with your baby, give yourself 5 minutes to half an hour to connect with yourself. It’s also a great way to fall asleep.

I am 18 weeks today thanks for explaining all of the simptoms that you are having I was wondring if you have experianced any vaganial disconfort and if it was normal thanks

  2. lifebodyfit says:

Hmmm, usually pregnancy slows down the digestion causing constipation, not diarrhea. I recommend Thorne Research basic prenatal vitamin and Integrative Therapeutics liquid calcium/magnesium. It’s also important to get a very high quality, pure DHA supplement for baby’s brain development (it will also help prevent ‘mommy brain’) and I use Nordic Naturals Strawberry DHA. Take your multi AFTER you eat and the calcium before bed to help you sleep.

  3. slpris says:

Hi, I am 18weeks today…Its great to see you here explaining all these to us. My Doctor have been giving my calcium and vitamins. But i keep having diarrohea after that. Any suggestion?

  4. LadyoftheLight says:

Sorry 4 the poor rating, happened by accident! :P

  5. AssNutt says:

you made this vid on my birthday :D !
soz im a bit late on watching them though.

  6. lifebodyfit says:

Yes, and it’s beautiful here today, finally! I’m using the Alma Birth Center, which is probably the best one in town. There’s also Andaluz on the other side of town. Best of luck to you and your friend.

  7. hansapanza says:

You’re in Portland, my hometown. I really envy you spending the summer there since I’m stuck here in sticky S. FL!

I’d love to know what midwife you’re using. I have a friend who is just starting to research them there. I hope everything is going well for you–you’re so close!

  8. lifebodyfit says:

Thank you, that’s so nice to hear. If you look above at the comment above yours I explain why the racing heart happens. It’s all about increased blood volume and the energy it takes to grow another human being. :) Hope that helps!

  9. holypreperation says:

GREAT video! Very calm, collected and informative! Thank you! Its weird because I have been having some quick heart racing too and its kind of scary it almost takes my breath away. LIke an anxiety attack?

  10. lifebodyfit says:

No, there’s no anxiety fortunately. In pregnancy the heart works much harder than normal because it has to pump about 20-30% more blood volume through your system. It also has to filter all the waste produced by the fetus, pushing it through the liver and out through the mother’s urine. I try to just relax and realize that my heart is working to keep my baby healthy. Hope that helps!

  11. lovellyjuliechavez says:

You were saying that your heart races sometimes, is that because you are going through an anxiety attack? Are you thinking What If’s when this happends?
Well, this is what I go through every once in a while, but I’m not pregnant, so, maybe its something to do with the baby?? Anyways, thanks for sharing the books you have, I always wondered what books there are out there that are good. So, thx for the recommendation.

  12. lifebodyfit says:

Thank you, that’s great to hear. Gaskin is an author I’ve been wanting to check out for awhile and she comes highly recommended by my midwife. Some days I feel ‘on top’ and others the exact opposite. So far the good days outnumber the bad, but the bad ones have been doozies. Good luck when you start trying!

  13. 36hesperia36 says:

You are awesome! Choosing a midwife and a vegetarian!! Whoooo hoooo!!

I’m vegan and we are going to be trying in a few months. ;)

I like your books list, emotional health is so vital during pregnancy, women are so often left with pretty baby items and meant to feel on top of the world, when that isn’t necessarily true.

I recommend anything by Ina May Gaskin, she is amazing and can help with your birthing and labour confidence!

    cont….

  14. pooface3381 says:

Just be careful with the caffine! I was told since I had a high risk pregnancy, to keep it under 16 oz of caffine a day! You probably already know but just wanted to share!

Can’t want to see if it is a boy or a girl!

  15. lifebodyfit says:

    Thanks, that’s sweet!

  16. xxxjoelpolexxx says:

No way. I was thinking they had extra smalls, or something I don’t know. Ur height probably helps w/ maternity jeans, I have to go store to store to find a pair that isn’t 2 feet longer than me.

  17. WinzStyle says:

    you are so beautiful :)

  18. lifebodyfit says:

You’re so welcome! I was hoping the books would be useful to some people, but I’m a complete book worm and tend to think everyone else is too. :) And thank you, the miscarriages were harder than I could have ever imagined and while I’m a very strong person, I had to reach out for help in many ways to get through.

I’ll work on a video on fitness and nutrition and post it soon. Thanks for the feedback!

  19. lifebodyfit says:

Thanks! Your dreams sound pretty traumatic, mine have been too although I’ve blocked most of them out by now. I just know I wake up thanking every deity known to man that it was just a dream and I make myself get up so I don’t have any more.

And yes, so excited for Jan. 22nd!

  20. lifebodyfit says:

Girl, you’re tiny! I’m over 5’8″ and have gained about 15 lbs already! I was in great shape before I got prego and then they told me to stop working out so I’ve gained a lot. The small size fits me but is a little large. I figured it would give me room to grow. :)

  21. xxxjoelpolexxx says:

Lucky??? Whaat? Not fair! I went to Mimi a few weeks ago and their small in Lucky’s were flipping HUGE on me. U don’t look big at all! Sooooo I don’t get it? How did u find some that fit? I’m 5’4″ and 120 lbs. The smalls literally just fell off of me.

  22. xxxjoelpolexxx says:

Congrats on making to Week 18! Oh the bad dreams… ME TOO! I have had the worst. I never dream of death, and the past 3 nights a good friend of mine, Lisa died in my dreams by a car wreck, then an ex co-worker, Nicole, that I was never friends with died in my dreams by a revolving door splitting open her head, and last night it was my father in law who I shot but so happen to already be dead b/c my husband had spiked his drink. VERY VERY weird dreams. Yah Jan 22nd couldn’t come soon enough uh?

  23. lifebodyfit says:

Thanks, we think it might be a boy too. Our twins hope for a boy but I will be very happy with either.

  24. lbcrayz says:

yeah, i walk on my treadmill

  25. lifebodyfit says:

No, I’m fine as far as that goes for now. I’ve been doing cardio on machines as well as speed walking with my dog so maybe that’s helping.

  26. happymama says:

I would like to suggest Nordic Naturals Prenatal DHA. It is the official omega 3 of the American Pregnancy Association. If you call the company, they will give you a free sample and literature.
I love Ina May Gaskins books. I have had two homebirths and two very healthy kids.
    I always eat organically too!

  27. hoodia says:

I wouldn’t say I completely agree regarding some points, but you definitely have an interesting way of writing thigs. Anyway, I like the quality you bring to

  28. Shan Juhas says:

hey this blog is great. I’m glad I came by this blog. Maybe I can contribute in the near future. PM ME on Yahoo AmandaLovesYou702

  29. dogs and separation anxiety…

I’d love to hear more from you like this….

  30. Nice Blog, verry informative!

  31. Tobie Raque says:

Very nice Blog! good to read!

  32. hey there smart little blogging site ya have here ;) I operate the same theme on my own and yet for whichever reasons it would seem to load quicker on your site although yours has considerably more content. Are you implementing any individual plugins or widgets that quicken it up? Do you think you could possibly write about the plug ins so that I would be able to use them in my personal web pages so twilight eclipse followers could watch twilight new moon online trailers and films more quickly I’d personally be pleased – regards ahead of time :)

  33. hehe o . k . so here’s exactly how mindless I am, midway through reading through your post I accidentally dropped my computer mouse and shut the firefox by accident and I could not find your article again until 2 days later to finish reading where I left off because I did not remember how I linked to your site in the first place haha anyhow it was worth the hold out..many thanks :)
